Help fill my Netflix Queue! What are your favorite funny movies?

Laughter is the best medicine... so speed my post-surgery recovery by telling me what are your all-time favorite comedies. This will give me something to look forward to while I lie around the house on painkillers.

You go giggle, girl!

Best in Show, Airplane, Three Amigos, The Sweetest Thing, Good Luck Chuck (this has some fairly "fresh" parts, but surprisingly funny), This is Spinal Tap, and I second Suzanne's suggestions. :)

You can enjoy this with Ethan-we all enjoyed the spongebob squarepants movie-if you like th simpson's you'll like this (and more appropriate for 5 year olds!)- we all get the giggles although we know we should be more grown up!

Wag the Dog. The Princess Bride. And let's not forget the healthful benefits of a little eye candy - Proof of Life, Russell Crowe all sweaty and buff before he got famous and started throwing phones at people.

The Office and 30 Rock on DVD, Little Miss Sunshine, Blast from the Past, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, and if you're in the mood for silly stupid comedy -- Saving Silverman. ~Beth

I endorse 1979's "The In-Laws" with Alan Arkin and Peter Falk. I've never found anything funnier.

From the more distant obscure past: Throw Momma from the Train; The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming!; Some Like It Hot; My Cousin Vinnie; Le Diner de Cons (in French, w/subtitles); Sesso Matto (in Italian, ditto); PeeWee's Big Adventure; Police Story (the 6-episode TV series that preceded The Naked Gun); Airplane!; Beetlejuice. I'll try to think of more...

Kung Fu Hustle, Hot Fuzz, Dr. Strangelove, and Being There (you don't have to like the Pink Panther series to love this movie)

Zoolander is completely incomparably hilarious. Definitely the funniest I've seen. I think it suits your and Colin's wacky irreverent humor too!

Meet the Parents is Ben Stiller at his best. For the Ben/Vince Vaughn combo go with Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
Off the beaten path a bit, but Amelie is light and quirky.
Rauchy, but still a classic: There's Something About Mary. Solid indie fare: Waitress (my wife's favorite), Bottle Rocket, Rushmore or Napoleon Dynamite. And what list would be complete without an obligatory John Cusick mush-fest: (no, not Say Anything) Serendipity.

I have to second "Entourage" (at least 3 seasons are now available on DVD). Also, the classic Pink Panther films (The Pink Panther, Return of the Pink Panther, A Shot in the Dark, Revenge of the Pink Panther). "Clerks" is another classic.

Here is one that you may not have heard about: Seducing Doctor Lewis. Very funny and well worth the subtitles (French). All the best. -Brendan
